R. M. GOOD It seems to me that the boys and girls of the Ozarks are endowed with particular blessings- beautiful surroundings, good health, Christian training, vocational guidanceg in fact, a real op- portunity for a well-rounded education. Surely they will be held responsible, both by their Maker and their fellowman, for render- ing a good account of themselves as they journey through life.

CARL CAVE Christian ideals and principles were the foundation of our early church, our nation and its democracy. An early philosopher wrote that states are what they are because its citizens are what they are. Education should unfold these given qualities in boys and girls which make them useful citizens to the country. To strive against obstacles is the lot of all who achieve. Anything gained without effort and sacrifice is seldom, if ever, a prized and worthwhile possession. Seeking for power, material gain, or world acclaim, too often finds us, in the end, like the ocean which beads itself against the rocky shores and leaves nothing but the foam of endeaver. If knowledge be real, put it forth from thee. A new light will rise on thee in the doing of all things.
