Why Come Ye Here Why Come Ye Here ? the interrogation so effectively placed over the stage of our chapel, may be only casually noticed by the student in his introductory days at S. of O. But, a persis- tent reminder, refusing to be ignored or passed by casually, it teases the thinking student until one day he surrenders, Well, why am I here? Fitting and natural it is, therefore, that a group of Seniors should choose this pertinent in- quiry as the theme of their yearbook. There are so many things in life We cannot deiine accurately-life itself, for instance, truth, Christianity, education-but of which we can give excellent examples. So it is with this theme, Why Come Ye Here ? We are not able to an- swer the question in so many words, but we have given illustrations. The habit of good, hard, patient, intelligent work has ever been the way of success, and we have endeavored to portray S. of O. students at work. Responsibility, both at work and in the classroom, is a blessed thing, and We have tried to picture some of the responsibilities S. of O. students accept. 'All of us want to be well-in- formed men and women. That reason for coming to the School is evident. in our eagerness to be- come acquainted with certain studies so inti- mately related with satisfactory living. S. of O. boys and girls are interested in the arts-music painting, good literatureg we have endeavored to touch upon that. Finally, the greatest of all purposes for coming to the School-indeed the greatest of all purposes for living-is that of living noblv, trying to understand His teachings, and come into a real communion With His spirit, establishing an unshaken faith in good moral values. Those things cannot be pictured or put into print, but we have tried to suggest them. And so, our splashes of interpretation upon the canvas entitled Why Come Ye Here ? will not present to you a picture complete in all de- tails. It has been our hope, however, to suggest, by the examples We have given, the Seniors' an- swer to Why Come Ye Here?

Summer Ordinarily we receive our introduction to S, of O. in the Hgood old summertime. Having agreed to work sixty days at the School before beginnning my school work, we tuck our work shirt and extra pair of overalls intlo the old suitcase and report for work at our new home. Those two months afford interesting and new experiences, and they give us a foundation to build on when school opens in the fall.
