'il-I can 'WWQA f ' SCHOOL GF THE OZARKS - . GIRLS' BASKET BALL Much interest was shown in basket ball by the girls this year. Early in the fall, soon after the boys started practicing, a large number of girls began coming out to help make a team. After a slow start in the fall, things began to pick up with the opening of the new gymnasium, and with re- gular practice' our team began to show up much better. We gave teams that were conceded to be stronger, closer and closer battles. We Won from Blue Eye who had previously beaten us. Every one began to praise our team for the way they were coming out of their losing streak. In the tournament, we again won from Blue Eye and gave Hollister, the best team in this section, one real hot battle, whereas they had easily beaten us before. We can justly be proud of a team that can lose many games and still come out in the end and win against previous victors. SCHOOL OF THE OZARKS. BOYS' BASKET BALL TEAM ' We opened our season of '27-'28 with a deter- mination to make our team one long to be re- membered at the School of the Ozarks. With a tall, red-headed boy for center, who could play all over the court at once, Cso it seemed,J our prospects for a winning team looked mighty good. The forwards would be hard to beat any- where, although both were new gmeng and our guards were like a stone Wall. But even with this team, we had to console ourselves over los- ing the cup. But just watch us-another year it will be ours. We have been greatly handicappedtthis year by the illness of several of the mainstays of the team but we are going to do our best to Win in spite of the odds against us.
