THE NIGHT BEFORE EXAM ‘Twas the night before exam and all through the night, Not a student was stirring, they were all filled with fright. The uniforms were hung by the closet with care, In hopes that Wednesday would soon be there. The instructors were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of questions danced in their heads. When down the hall there arose such a clatter I sprang from my desk to see what was the matter. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, But all of the students with all looks of fear. More rapid than eagles their questions they came, And I answered their questions and gave them the same. The systems, the nerves, the muscles, the bones, all the glands, their functions and all the hormones. To their rooms I told them they all must go to, Now go away, go away, I have studying to do. As the clock turned eleven, I went to bed, With anatomy notes filling my head. When just when I thought I had fallen to sleep, I heard the alarm go beep, beep, beep! Up from the bed I arose with haste, ’Cause I knew today, I had no time to waste. I sat at my desk, to my classmates said, ‘Hi,’ and patiently waited as the minutes ticked by. Down the hall Mrs. Holland came with the test in her hand, shut the door behind her and gave her demand. As we take our exam may our minds be at rest, We need to realize that we all do our best.
