We started the year together not knowing what we were to expect or how we were going to tolerate it. The Bazaar on Nov. 28 was our first big project. We were up to our ears in crafts, remember Susan’s midget wreath? We got our uniforms about a week before Christmas. It took us a long while to get used to wearing our caps and keeping our uniforms down; right Flowy! Christmas vacation came and boy did we need it. The teachers gave us a nice party and we exchanged some pretty nice gifts. We had a lot of parties. That was about the only thing we remember agreeing on. Why did Lulu, Robin, Barb sit across from the hat shop after the Spaghetti Din¬ ner? April brought the Convention. A lot of us spent a lot of time in the lounge. Debbie Miller even showed up in her booties. Jerry had one main question, “Do I get to pick my roommates or do they get to pick me?” Of course we did go places at the convention. “By the way Mrs. Guy — did you ever take your ear plugs out after we left the DISCO; and Mrs. Holland what was in that magazine you and Mrs. Mapp were so interested in that night? We really did have a good time.” Williamsburg was our next trip. Mrs. Holland made sure Charlotte got back safely.
