in % 3 C . CLASS HISTORY OF 1977-78 The hectic day of September 18 may be blurred in some of our minds, but the occasion will always be remembered. That day was marked by new faces (later to become dear friends) and squeaky strange beds. The nineteenth day of September started a new career for us. We were introduced to our instructors. The class officers and the yearbook staff were voted upon on October 19, our first’ class meeting. After working hard on the many Christmas articles that we made, putting everything out on the tables, and making all the baked goods November 30 was here. It was time for our Annual Bazaar. December 13 was “Look-a-Like Day.” We dressed in our uniforms and caps. There was no longer the problem of “What will I wear today?” On January 31 was our first day of duty. Everybody was a little nervous and a little scared. After two postponements we thought this day would never come. In April we left for Richmond for our first “Nurses’ Convention.” Of course we attended Student’s Day. Our lecture was on “Reponsibilty and Accountabilty.” On June 16 we went to a beach party to Tankard’s Beach. On July 17 we went to another beach party to Assateague. We all enjoyed it, but most of us did not enjoy the pain from the sunburn. On August 15, we had a tour of the Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg. Our own personal lives were greatly affected by this year. Some of us had never been away from home or lived with a bunch of “wacky” girls. But everyone seemed to adjust well considering the many games and pranks, such as the waterfights, greased toilet seats, and toilet paper spider webs. There were a couple of engagements and then weddings. We even had a baby born. This of course includes the much appreciated and fun surprise showers. May God be with all of us.
