CLASS HISTORY i«r. Ski 4i A i Mil On September 15, 1975 twenty-four eager girls arrived at Bessie B. Anderson School of Nursing, ready to try their luck at nursing. The year held, in store, many happy times and many sad times. The first few months was an initiation period. The teachers were getting use to the students and the students were adjusting to the workload. Also this time was one of fun, pranks, and waterfights. November was a busy month with many projects being started. A yard sale and a turkey and ham raffle started the class off financially. Then, before Thanksgiving, the class made turkeys from pine cones and presented them to the residents of two nursing homes in Accomac County. Everyone was making handcrafts for the upcoming bazaar. On December 5, we had a bazaar that was very successful. A lot of hard work and talent contri¬ buted to the fact that it went well. Later on in the month, the teachers gave the students a party on Christmas Eve. Gifts were exchanged and the students presented the teachers a golden bell en¬ graved with Class of 1975-76. (much to the student 1 regret) In January of 1976, we were given a late New Years present - our uniforms of which the glory soon wore off. Soon after, we started a new money making scheme - an afghan raffle. Again, this project was successful and the students were glad, since it was the last raffle. Cn April 27, we took a trip to Flshersville for clinical experience and excitement. We toured the ' Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center which was very educational. Then we went to Charlottesville to the University of Virginia ' s Children ' s Reha¬ bilitation Center and this turned out to be very interesting, considering it was unplanned. We spent the night outside of Richmond and everyone relaxed for the evening. Some bowled, some visited relatives, and some slept. The next day was filled with hustle and bustle. In the morning we went to the Capitol and saw Governor Godwin. Then we shopped in downtown Richmond and headed back home. But before we got home, we made one more stop. This time we went to a mall and by this time, our legs were dragging. Home was a welcome sight.
