The bif- day was finally here I e wildered and not knowing what was ; The next day we received our rule us some idea of what was coming, that we elected our class officers, struggle, when nobody knew anybody’ all arrived be- in store for us, books which gave Sot long after talk about a On September 19th, the patients were all moved in¬ to our beautiful new hospital, that was a big day. for everybody, Before we knew it the Christmas Holidays had arrived. Our Schedule was full of exciting act ivities. We held our Christmas Bazaar where we had a luncheon and raffled off a color television. We also went Christmas caroling which we all en- joyed. We then had a weeks vacation which was quite ' a surprise. Upon our return from our vacation we had our first day on duty. Our next big event was on February 9th when we held our capping ceremony, our parents were invited and it was a big occasion for all. Early in May we raffled an Afghan which was donated by Mrs. Doutt, our housemother. May 9th, we visited the mental institution in Williamsburg, The following week on the Ibth and 17th, we attended the LPN convention in Rich¬ mond, where we met Miss Eleanor J, Smith, R.N. Senior citizens and convalescents really do enjoy the peace and quiet of an exclusive neighborhood the beauty of five shaded acres, being treated like the honor¬ ed guests they are. We believe that kind¬ ness and considerations are just as Important as fine medical care, that our daily occu¬ pational therapy is a welcome cnange. Of course we have licensed nurses around the clock and doctors on call 2l|. hours a day, but we never stop trying to make people feel like guests instead of patients.
