Swift Vice President . J. Smith Secretary . B. Melson Treasurer . D. Trader Historian . V. Crockett (not pictured) On September l8, 1966, as we entered the doors of the nursing home, we were both excited and scared. We had no idea what to expect from the nursing profession. Now as the months have passed we have all experienced many trials and tribulations, both good and bad. As president of the class, I would encourage young girls, who have an interest in people, especially those that are ill, to enter this wonderful profession. It has often been said that nursing is something no machine can replace. How true that state¬ ment is. There will always be a position for a nurse in the hospital. As Miss Bell sees her, she can ' t say a ' vord ' Miss Doroski arrives with a car-load of ' live ' animals v;hile Miss Ladd roars to the front door on her very own Honda after picking-up Miss Crockett, who has been nursing on a hospital ship between Tangier and The Mainlanti. Mrs. Hacker arrives with a coffee pot under her arm while Miss Swift is greeting everyone with a sont? to Miss Trader ' s accompaniment. All goes well for the rneetiag as Mrs. V hite has the floor and no one else can talk. Mrs. Smith has charge of the banquet. V e hope She doesn ' t eat it all first. Miss Merritt is the Mistress of Ceremonies and requests Miss Sodwin to give an adoress without blushing as Miss Johnson is not willing to speak due to her appearance. Black eyes, ACAINL ' . ?? Following the banquet Miss Melson entertains with the Can Can . Miss Murphy renders her impression of her favorite doctor making ' rounds ' and Miss Woolfrey is unable to see. Seems her eye make-up has covered her entire face. Miss Davis is unable to attend the reunion as she is exhausted from worrying that everyone will not arrive. Mrs. Riassell makes the announcements and reports that Mrs. Warren is t teaching Anatomy, Mrs. Guy has solved her popping problem and Mrs. Cramer has discarded the word ' think ' from her lectures. The major confusion of the day is the arrival of one dozen red roses with a card stating, All My Love, S.A. Just who do you think will claim them? ? 1 I Page 19 fyiomentd to ememoer L Page 20 Page 22 METOMPKIN BANK A: TRUST CO. Being polite with a heart that swells Longing for home, and all the while Wearing the same unwavering smile, Blessing the newborn babe’s first breath Closing the eyes that are still in death] Nurse” Taking thie blame for many mistakes, Oh dear 1 What a lot of patience it takes. Going off duty at seven o’clock. Tired, discouraged, and ready to drop. With woe in her heart which must not be seen. Hoping she’ll not be called back , at seven-fifteen. Morning, and evening, noon and night Just doing it over and hoping it’s right. With, guidance from: others to lessen her fear Of problems and patients to her so dear, Now that our day for caps has ar rived May we ever be humble and wear them with pride.
