CLASS PROPHECY Through the magic crystal ball we can see the year 1976. Look, there goes Ann Stubbs on a people train for the first time. She is on her way to join the class for a reunion at the annual L.P.N.Va. convention. It seems the entire class has arrived at the hotel. Barbara Wolf is having difficulty getting regis¬ tered, as the registrar is a male L. P. N. He can’t understand her with her back turned. Following the evening business session, there is a meeting in Penny Fields’ room. It seems she has adjusted well to staying in one room ever since her class days. It grows on you. The conversation is enlightening with tales of long ago. There is a hush as Jo Sue finally makes phone connections. Then in the doorway walks Willie Anna in her ball-gown (or is it a nightie? or a tutu?). Can you feature her doing a ballet? It seems no one has seen Donna Briggs since her last trip (5th) to the corner Waffle Shop. Cora Sue is letting-her-hair-down with gusto . Seems she has little opportunity to talk at home. (Only six children). Vivian and Catherine have departed to seek adventure. In the hallways??? Oh, well 1 ’. ’. you can always hang uniforms from the ceilings. The night of the banquet arrives and the outstand¬ ing speaker is Lois Marsh. Seems she has establish¬ ed a new record for 3-11 duty, for the past ten years. The only announcement from the floor sounds like, Has anyone seen a pipe stand? A WHAT?? At least Rose has made the supreme effort. The entertainment is a lovely piano rendition by Dana Chambers. Everyone is so relieved as it will give them the opportunity to catnap and dream of all good things for the years to come. Page 13
