We tied Middleburg for the Southeastern District Championship with 4 wins and 2 losses, but lost to them in a close playoff game, 3 to 2. Our infield proved solid with a triple play turned in against Berne. This is a rare feat and especially in a school league. They also made four double plays in a game against Duanesburg. Donnie Howard Q2 wins-0 lossesj and Rudy Sturm C 1 win-2 lossesj were our most effective pitchers. We lost only four seniors from the team and are looking forward to the Championship this year. This fact was proven when it returned from Little Falls, New York, with the top rating of 6A. Six of our members received solo ratings. Gale Furman and Larry Becker received GA, Bruce Mahar 6B, Ricky Colyer SA, Perry Kane SB, and jim Rowley 4A. A number of band students were chosen to play in the All-State Sectional Band which was held in Little Falls. The band was directed by the conductor of the Port Wzxshington band on Long Island. This year Larry Becker attended All-State Band at Rochester, N. Y. He held first chair in his section. In February the band gave a fine concert consisting mainly of marches. Concerts were also given at various neighboring schools in the County. In March some band members played in the junior and Senior County Band. HIGH SCHOOL CHORUSES Miss Crossley's high school choruses have undertaken a number of outside activities. In the early Fall the chorus sponsored the Sharon Springs Chorus concert here. In March our chorus, which featured two soloists, made a return engagement at Sharon Springs. A few Senior Chorus members attended All-State Sectional Chorus which was a two-day arrangement with the participants spending the night in private homes. During the Christmas season the Senior Chorus serenaded shoppers in front of the Community Church in Schoharie. There was, of course, our own school Christmas pro- gram which differed from programs of former years in that it was strictly a concert performed by the band and the senior, junior and fifth and sixth grade choruses. Twenty-four select members participated in the Schoharie County Senior Chorus in March under the direction of Leonard Stine. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHORUS Mrs. Tripp has done a splendid job with her choruses in the elementary school. At Christmas time her third and fourth grade chorus presented an operetta, The Little Blue Angel which was a tremendous success. MELOETTES K ' Q. , , RL ., :A .
