The Patriot George Washington, our patriot, Beloved will ever be A symbol of the warning light On the shore of a rolling sea. He stands for all that's just and good For all that's fine and true, For the will of men who, valiantly, Resolve to dare and do. A glorious light he shines today, A guiding star for Youth, Who strive to lead as once he led, Spurred on by faith and truth. Though first in war, your guiding star was peace, and now we see That hand in hand, in this great land, tread peace and loyalty. George Washington, O patriot, has peace been cried in vain 5 'Twas Liberty unsheathed your sword, what better cause or aim? Washington George Washington had been to me A picture hanging in our hall. He looked so stern and far away. He did not seem a man at all. But when I read of Valley Forge, Of how his soldiers fought and died As much for love of Washington As for their homes and countryside, I find a picture of this man Which does not hang on any wall.
