ATKINSON, ELEANOR This girl is quiet and so small, In classroom though, she's wont to stallg Although she makes but little noise, She is quite fond of all the boys. Speech is great, but silence is greater. BAILEY, LEROY Student Board '18, Class Book Committee. A well dressed, silent youth, At least, that's what he seemsg A poet, too, forsooth, And often lost in dreams. l'm forever blowing bubbles. BALDAUF, MARY- Mamie Naturalist Club, Leaders' Club, Civic Forum. M is for mischief, that's quite plain to seeg A is for angel which she'll never beg R means her readiness for a good timeg Y stands for youth, quite too radiant for rhyme. It would be well to lengthen to the last a sunny word. BAUER, MILDRED- Wifey , Mid Camera Club, Civic Forum, Publication Commitee '19, Class Book Committee '20, Naturalist Club. The sensitive souls of most artists need care- Giggling and nonsense fills them with despairg But Mildred is jolly and chuck full of fun, With rollicking, frolicing humor she's won A smile from the sourest, a laugh from the sad, But sometimes her sarcasm has made us plumb mad. For she's a jolly good fellow. BAXTER, RUTH Civic Forum. In school she's very placid, And doesn't make much noise: But you just ought to see her When she's outside with the boys. She is pretty to walk with And witty to talk with And pleasant to think upon. 17

GHIGGS, THOMAS NEWELL- Cinders , T, N. T. Class President, President Student Board '19, Presi- dent Hobby Club '18, Football, Tennis, Track, Basketball. Tom goes in for everything- Studies, sports, girls, fellows, fun, Volatile, versatile, voluble- He's the whole show rolled in one. Look! he's winding up the watch of his witg by and by it will strike--for though he is a wit, he's no fool. ABEL, HERTI-IA Civic Forum, Commercial Club. Bertha's quiet, sometimes gay- She does her bit in every wayg With boys she's very seldom seen, Sometimes in class she's rather green. As innocent as a new laid egg. AHRIGNDTS, GEORGIA- Georgy Choral Club. A fair young girl is Georgy! A dancer? Well, you betcha! In class she should be in esteem, For she can write just by the ream. Vacation is her vocation. ANDERSON, HILDA- Andy Basketball, Leaders' Club, Chemistry Club, Civic Forum, Naturalist Club. O, Hilda's quite industrious, She's really very studiousg But yet in playing basketball, The score she gets is never smallg We must confess of Hilda though, ln jazzing she is rather slow. Harmony with every grace, Played in the fair proportions of her face. ARENSON, HERMAN- Herm Spanish Club, Camera Club, Civic Forum, Student Board '17, Social Committee, Class Play. Our Herman is a shark at Math.- We all know that's a. factg But we admit without a qualm That we our brains have racked To find out how he gets away With such a lack of tact. A little mite who thinks himself the whole cheese. 16

BENJAMIN, HARRY Chemistry Club, Civic Forum. Our Benjamin's not quite a chemistry shark, Yet some way or other he does hit the mark, Yet get him around before 8:45- Well, the man who can do this is not yet alive. I heard a hollow sound, who rapped on my head? 1:1-:RNs'rEIN, HYMEN G.- Hym Civic Forum, French Club, W. S. S. Salesman. ln English, Hym is not a shining light, But there are other things we keep in sightg With stamps he's done his share for Schenley High, And many other things you can't deny. As idle as a painted chip upon a painted ocean. BLOCK, HAROLD B.- Bushy Civic Forum, Commercial Club, Basketball '20 Senior Football '19, Manager Baseball '19, Track Dramatics Club. In basketball he failed to star, We're not at all sure that he skates, But he, 'tis sure, excels by far, All others in classroom debates. This way the noise was, if mine ear be true. BLYTHE, JOHN- Johnny Track, Capt. Track Team '19, Choral Club. Hard study agrees not with John, Though at running he's just like a fawng But if there's a crowd which he is among- In it you will find his friend who's so young. The sin of excessive length. ISUETTICHER, NINA Basketball, Choral Club, Student Board, Leader Club. Here is Nina, The basketball queen, In the thick of the fight She is sure to be seen, She takes to wild tunes As a duck takes to water, And she's ruined her rep As a minister's daughter. A sprightly miss and a good fellow. 18
