Cruise Chronology The fourth of October 1975 saw the end of reparations and the commencement of Cl-lENECTADY'S West Pac Deployment. The mor- ug of the fourth, SCHENECTADY got underway .in Pier 10 San Diego Naval Station enroute to earl Harbor, Hawaii. Sailing in company with VHENECTADY were the U.S.S. JUNEAU, .S.S. STERETT, U.S.S. ST. LOIUS, U.S.S. EIISTOL COUNTY, U.S.S. ALAMO, and the S.S. CAYUGA. After a brief five day stop in Pearl Harbor for ,ioading Marines and a predeployment conference . the tenth of October it was on to Kwajelein. After viving at Kwajelein on the twenty first of October, xr house trailers were loaded as part of an oppor- lie life. Once the trailers were loaded the 'HENECTADY got underway for Subic Bay, Republic of the Phillipines. While underway SCHENECTADY conducted back to back unreps with the U.S.S. MARS for stores and with the U.S.S. PASSUMPSIC for fuel. SCHENECTADY arrived at Subic Bay the thrity first of October. While in Subic the ship loaded ten Marines and seven vehicles for an opportune lift to Okinawa. The second of October SCHENECTADY was underway again, this time for White Beach, Okinawa. The destination was reached on the fifth of November at which time LVT Operations commenced. Also while in Okinawa the ship was inspected by Admiral Whitmire from CTF-6. His comments following the inspection were very favorable. On the ninth of November SCHENECTADY was headed for Yokosuka, Japan and her first scheduled upkeep period.
