ROW 4: Greg Wallar, Herman Schneider, Gary Marks, Robin Chaney. Schaumburg High School's Marching Band started out a great year by marching at all of Schaumburg's home football games. Then they represented our school while marching in the Saint Patrick's Day parade in Chicago. On Memorial Day weekend they were invited to march in the Indianapolis 500 parade. An invitation to perform in Chi- cago for a parade honoring President Nixon was refused due to controversial political overtones suggested by board members.

l. Septemberfest - Community Pro Labor Day Weekend has become part of a young tradition September- fest for residents of Schaumburg. Many community civic groups were represented in the parade and the following Fair. During the summer the Concert Choir, as last year, worked on pre- paring a float to enter in the parade. A dog listening to His Master's Voice was the design accompanied by two jitterbugging couples and a collection of dancing records. The float won second place in the judging. Our Schaumburg Marching Sax- ons won first place for their music and high stepping. fits
