The 1973 SHIMMER started its year off late due to the December deliv- ery of the 1972 annual. A young and inexperienced staff then began the task of recording the school year at Schaumburg under the editorship of Kim Doner and management of ju- nior, Iohn Westrom. The newspaper, The SEXTANT, under the co-editor- ship of Vicci Sartorius and Bob Hommowun, started the year off with an opening day of school edi- tion. As the year progressed, many staff members resigned as editorial decisions were made contrary to the wants of the student body.
