These include the 400 meter relay with a time of 54.16 and the sprint medley with a time of 1.57.0. Both of these records are held by the PM Yr combination of Deb Grieme, Rita Tokheim, Sandi Tokheim, and Tracey VanBuskirk. School records were also set in the field events where Diane Wendel broke her old discus re- cord she set last year with a throw of 117'1O . Mary Jo Naberhaus also set a record in the shot put with a throw of 39'3 . Both Diane and Mary Jo competed at the state track meet in Des Moines where Mary Jo placed 4th. fri'-1? Rockets Build For The Future The boys track team had tripled in numbers this year going from 8 of last year's Fabulous Few to 24 members. The boys lacked exper- ience but were competitive in some races. However, in losing only two performers, the team could have an interesting season next year. Doug Ayers was the only representative of the team at the state meet this year. He won the discus at districts with a throw of 130'9 which qualified him for state where he failed to place. ln being only a junior, Doug will have another shot at state next year.
