Simi? nl This year the cheerleaders were kept busy planning several pep rallies and cheering at many games. The highlight this fall for the football cheerleaders was participating in the KAYL Cheerleading Contest. They received a S50 first place award for the most original cheer and most spirit. Jr. Varsity . . Looking Good The Jr. Varsity volleyball is looking good for the future by finishing the season with a 9-2 record. The J .V. are carrying on the tradition of Schaller volleyball with wins in all conference matches except one. These girls show promise for the future and will be the nucleus of the varsity in years to come. The J.V. gave much needed support to the varsity and rode the bus to cheer them on at State. The 198 The Schaller Rockets posted a 6-3 record in the Bo- Coon Conference football race during the 1980 football season. They ended up second in the conference with Wall Lake, Newell, and Crestland all tying for first. This year was a special year for head coach Jim Taylor. He has been coaching for twenty-five years, eight of those while in Schaller. During his coaching career he has accummulated 150 wins. lt came about after the its. victory over Battle Creek this season. To celebrate this achievement there was a pep rally held in his honor. He received plaques, a trophy, autographed football from the football team, and to top it off two lovely decorated cakes made in the shape of a football field and football. Wefre sure Mr. Taylor will always remember this day and we hope he will be a sharer of another 150 wins.
