On Tuesday, February 6, the SHS Swing Choir, Instrumentalists, and Mrs. Stille travelled to Pochanatas High School for the annual swing choir competition. - Schaller was one of the nine schools in Class C. After weeks of rehearsal we felt ready to do our best. We performed three numbers: Let Me Share My Music With You, Both Sides Now , and Theme from 'New York, New York ' fsoloist: Gary Pylei. We watched several more groups perform until finally the time came to announce Class C winners. Third place - second place - we didn't hear our name! Then first place, Schaller! It was a great feeling collecting the first place trophy - the culmination of many early morning hours of preparation. 55

Choir Performs Once again the vocal music depart- ment demonstrated their fine musical abilities, and always gave their audiv ences a treat. It was a busy year, each music group working to ready themselves for each concert and later contest, But l the hard work paid off, providing for a delightful Girls Glee Tea, Christmas Concert, Pop's Concert, and other i annual performances. Small groups began to come togeth- er, and rehearsals meant early morn- ing risings, and constant practicing.
