The girls lacked experience in both courts, but had extra scoring power with Waterbury shifting to the forward court. None of this year's starting guard court were regulars last year. Nine girls were awarded letters. Rasmussen, Waterbury, Blum, Brown, Hagberg, Wiese, Alexander, Stille and Rosdail. Rasmussen led the scoring with 432 points and was the squad's only senior. Waterbury and Rosdail were elected co-captains by the squad members. This year, the Conference race ended in a three-way tie for first place between Aubum, Schaller, and Crestland. Jensen, Stille and Currie handled most of the pitching chores with contribu- tions from Nusbaum in three of the games. Catching was Chuck Martin. Leading hitter on the club was Kent Stille, getting 12 hits in 26 at bat for a fine .462 average. The team, in 196 trips to the place collected a total of 51 base hits for a team batting average of .259. Schaller's combined pitching staff allowed a total of 24 runs on 35 hits, and the Schaller fielders committed a total of 25 errors.
