BA EBALL This year's baseball team, with five freshmen on the starting line -up, was primarily a hustling ball club. The Rockets won 6 in-a -row before being upset in the district tournament at Fonda. The season's over- all record was 6-3. Leading the hitters for Schaller was Kent Stille with a sizzling .693 batting average. Pitchers for the club included Dave Nusbaum, Daryl Currie, Tom Watson, Ron Jensen and Kent Stille. Highlight of the season was Ron Jensen's no -hitter against Hayes in the semi-finals of the sectional tournament. Ronnie faced just 21 men, but walked one to spoil a perfect game. The 10 letter winners were: Tom Watson, Dave Nusbaum, Kent Stille, Chucklvlartin, Larry Grieme, Daryl Currie, Ron Jensen, Craig Parkinson, Dean Grotjohn, John Alexander. ROCKETS The Rockets ended a fairly successful season with a 7 won, 11 lost record. After last year's heavy gradua- tion loss, only two lettermen remained to return to this year's squad. The entire squad had only two upper classmeng one junior, Don Haselhoff, and one senior, Jack Lacy. Winning many games became a difficult task. The team, however, put up a good fight against the tough, tall teams played. The boys scored a total of 969 points as compared to the 1019 scored by their opponents. Their defensive average was 56.6 points per game. Offensively the average was 53.9 points.
