The Rockettes enjoyed a very successful season this year by compiling an impressive 20 wins, 3 losses. The key to the team's success was tough rebounding, both defensively and offensively, rugged guarding, balanced scoring, and a fierce desire to win. This year the girls broke a long time jinx by winning the Sac County Tournament. In the sectional tournament the girls advanced to the finals where they met the highly rated Holstein team and took their third loss. Scoring honors went to Barb Barrett, post forward, who scored 567 points for an average of 24.3 points. Barb's high school career total was 1053 points. Jani Pyle scored 433 points this year for an 18.8 points per game average. Jean Rasmussen scored 375 points for a 16.2 points per game average. The guards did a very fine job. Connie Rosdail, Gwen Andresen and Carol Waterbury bolstered by reserves Mary Wiese and Colleen Blum held opponents to a 42.3 points per game average. The forwards averaged 62.4 points per game.
