Realizing the prime importance of the academic life of a student, educators like- wise understand the inestimable value of extraarrricular activities at the secondary level. No one denies the contributions made by the various religious and social organi- zations of any school. Scecina is proud of the wide variety of clubs and activities offered to its students. Having a specific purpose in view, each club'is unique and invites students to membership according to individual tastes and aptitudes. Depending upon students for leadership and promotion of activities, Clubs effect a spirit of self-confidence among members and serve to instill a realization of the value Through the clubs and the of individual future careers of co-operative endeavors. medium of these specific challenging accomplishments students within the groups, are often fostered. Although the social aspect of our lives has not been considered as of prime im- portance, it has not been neglected. This is reflected in the numerous all-school dances, Junior Prom and Senior Ball, pro- moted under school auspices. Cherished memories of these social events will re- main with us throughout life. To direct students to the realization of the truth that one's spiritual life is of pri- mary importance, to assist them in combin- ing the social with the spiritual, to teach them to give and to enjoy the giving, to guide them to work for others and for themselves - this is the intention of Scecina's religious organizations. That this has been accomplished is evidenced in the devotion to the First Thursday Adoration Day, the active participation in the Missa Recitata of the First Friday Mass, and the generous contributions to the many chari- table projects sponsored throughout the school year.
