5' 5 a Oliver W, Melchior, Principal 1 wa 1 . Us,. .,,, YT? Mrs. Anne Austin, Seuelarli Io Principal Principal Mr. Melchior is more than the chief executive of Scarsdale High School. His fine judgment, high ideals, and aimiable countenance make him an inspiration to students and faculty alike. When Mr. Melchior speaks, he reaches each person in his audience, His words are wise and thought provoking. His friendly spirit, his faith in the students and faculty, and his sense of humor enrich the impression his wisdom makes. But our principal does not limit his contact with school members to the podium. At football games, dramatic productions, and other school activities, he is an interested and loyal spectator. On an individual level, Mr. Melchior has offered advice to many G. O. officers, club presidents, and ordinary school citizens not on official business. He shows further interest in the students and faith in their maturity by encouraging privileges, such as the honor system and senior seating at assemblies. We could not wish for a more respected person as our principal. The Office Staff The office staff combines efficiency with patience through- out each school day. Everyone in school, from Mr. Melchior and the deans to the faculty and the pupils, comes in contact with this valuable staff. Its members handle faculty mail, o.k. early dismissals, and deliver mothers' frantic messages. to list just a few of its widespread services. In the midst of all our activity, its reassuring to know that the oflice staff is one of the calm and reliable institutions at school, one that we can depend on and do appreciate. l l ADMINISTRATIVE STAFEI Mrs. Thelma Briggs, Mrs. Louise QL if GENERAL OFFICE STAN: Mrs. Hynes, Mrs. Larroll, Mrs bhannon
