Some of their things are looking at an amoeba in biology or taking a trip to the li-1 brary to do their book reports. Some stu-1 dents may have the pleasure of working in the school store with Mr. Blount. Others may go after the Spartan of the Year award by working out on the football team. Also we have Mrs. Morgan with her oil painting class, i 4 along with Mr. Gabriel's construction crewl which built its own greenhouse. THE SPEECH CLUB IN CALIFORNIA The Scarborough Senior High Speech Club, headed by Penny Johnson, has really been going places this year. The squad has at- tended tournaments in New Braunfels, Beaumont, and New Orleans in the past. They outdid themselves this year when twelve contestants were sent to the Mira Costa High School Mustang She- bang in Manhattan Beach, Cali- fornia, a suburb of Los Angeles. When not at the tournament, the students enjoyed going to the beach and Disneyland, and seeing the sights of Los Angeles. The people who went to California were Beth Ballard, Sherry Cooper, Leigh Ann Haggard, Tina Linke, Marian Linscomb, Mark Loranc, Phylis McKinley, Michelle Monse, Mari Moore, Dawn Newcomer, Maureen Pippen, Ted Smith, and Penny Johnson, sponsor. The yearbook would like to thank Mark Monse for printing these pictures.
