Princi pal 8 Messa ge When students of high school age reach this point in their journey along the broad highway of life, they are more or less prone to disregard some of the more important guide-posts es- tablished for their use in reach- Mr. Knowlen, “Industry needs boys like you. - m - - : | | : ing their desired destination. They seem to have the philosophy of the Smoky Mountain youth who had been lost and when found said, “If I were educated, I could have read the signs and then I would have known where to go.” Unlike this boy who had very meager opportunities for learning, we should determine here and now that reading the sign is a means of becoming educated rather than being edu- cated in order to follow directions. Your school, through its exploratory opportunities and its guidance, can enable you to read the signs along the way that you may choose the right direction to travel. Be alert and on the lookout for any means of guidance that can help you. It’s a waste of time to get lost and have to find your way back onto the right road. Mr. Milton Knowlen Seated: E. Lilley.
