IN MEMORIAM GUY HERBERT PILLSBURY, Jr., Class of 1940 I cannot , and I will not say That he is dead—he is just away! With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand, He has wandered into that unknown land, And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be since he lingers there. An appeal that is go¬ ing over the entire state for more safety on highways, where thousands of school children and older pedestrians are com¬ pelled to walk through the lack of trans¬ portation, and out of the scores, how many are killed ? How many are crippled for life? The motorist, when he is tempted to speed past the rate for safe driving, should stop to think that he is jeopardizing the life of everyone on the road,—pedestrians, passing motorists and all others. But the careless, reckless drivers,—little care they for anything but speed and more speed. Then, only after they meet with an acci¬ dent and arc critically injured, they stop to think of all the pain and expense they have cost themselves and perhaps someone else. It is too late then. Sorrow and grief tinge the atmosphere of many homes just because someone dig-
