Among these are the senior play, publication of the school's yearbook, the Sayville Senior, election of senior class officers and par- ticipation in Girls' and Boys' State. Toward the end of the school year, senior activities outweigh all others. First, the year's social highlight, the senior prom, is held. Next there is a senior ban- quet which all seniors attend, and the climax- graduation itself. SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Ronny Hill, President, George Robinson, Vice President, Dick Dickes, Treasurer, and Anne Bieniek Knot pictured herel, Re- cording Secretary. The SAYVILLE SENIOR is one of the biggest proiects undertaken by each senior class. This year approximately one-third of the seniors took part in its production and publication. The section in which most of the seniors participated was advertising. Since selling advertisements supplements the cost of the book, the advertising staff is undoubtedly the backbone of our SAYVILLE SENIOR. This year's advertising staff is pictured below. Other yearbook credits and pictures will be found in the activity section. Back row: T. Librizzi, P. Mega, M. Strub, M. MacCornack, J. Julian, C. Barone, C. Nash, C. Stark, L. Novinski, B. Bason, C. This year the play was a mystery comedy in three acts, entitled Meet a Body. If you were trying to sell a vacuum clean- er in a strange house and found a body, what would you do? Well that was the plot, and a hilarious one with plenty of action. SENIOR PLAY CAST SENIOR PLAY CAST-Back row: V. Powell, F. Dermitt, M. Marcell, W. Dickes, R. Vanderborgh, R. Cooley, J. Conklin, B. Suckow. Seated: P. Kinkaide, M. Bolger, GIRLS' STATE AND BOYS' STATE are assemblies of girls and boys from all over New York State The purpose of these conventions is to duplicate the activities of our state government. Sayville High School was represented this year by Lillian Schmidt, Michael Parsons, and Olney Clowe. Lil- Iian and Olney were sponsored by the Smith- Wever Unit INo. 65ll of the American Legion Auxiliary of Sayville. Mike represented the Joseph Kovarick Post CNo. H465 of the American Le- gion Auxiliary of Bohemia. These candidates were selected on the basis of outstanding scholarship, leadership, and sportsmanship. The production was under the direction of Mr. Dries, assisted by Mr. Romano and Mr. Miller as technical directors. PRODUCTION STAFF-Standing: J. Connelly, L. Novinski, P. Maliar, P. Hebert, R. In addition to grappling in a very tough league, last year's Novice League Champions were plagued by inexperience and by a lack of depth. Ronnie Roster, Sayville's star heavyweight, had a very triumphant year, compiling a record of II-3 during the regular season. Roster also showed well in the post-season tournaments. Captain George Kelly, who will be returning next year Eg K, was another top rnatman, as was senior Les Hanak. 01 -f -e 'if WRESTLING TEAM Back row: B. Hamilton, W. Pauge, R. Seidenschwarz, F.
