On November sixth we presented Quiet Summer , a rollicking comedy hy Marrijaiie and Joseph Hayes. As the story goes, james Clark, hachelor and lawyer, has hopes of spending a peaceful sumf mer devoted to getting himself elected president of his country clulw. His wcllflaid plans go astray, however, when his sister leaves in his care her two teenfage offspring. In the course of three uproar' ious acts, Uncle Jimmie learns about the younger generation, puts aside his dignity, finds romance f and wins the election, The play was a success from every angle, thanks to the excellent coaching of Miss Rod- gers and Miss Knowles The cast of the play was as follows: HELEN RUSSELL .lames Clarks secretary and girl friend, a trifle more real' istic than he . , . In Eehruary, Class Night activities stimulated the interest and enthusiasm of a large group of seniors anxious to make the most of this last chance at impressing the school, Even though we got only third place with our Cay Ninetiesu theme. people will not easily forget the oldffashioned liathing suits, the tandem hike, the laarherfshop quartet, the old touring car, and the Bowery hum, It has heen a husy year. and as it is now drawing to a close we are making plans for our prom and our commencement dinner our final activities tof gether after twelve years of close association and friendship. The senior year is reputedly a busy one and, with this in mind, we started early in September to lay our plans. Dick Eller, john Wells, Marilyn Mead, and Alice Eversdyke were elected president, vicefpresident, secretary, and treasf The yearbook, with Dick Eller and Calvin Seerveld as cof editors, got under way with a very successful ad campaign. Dave Hair and Cal Seerveld, being the leading solicitors, Immediately following the ad campaign, the '4Sfers went to work on magazine safes which brought in over fourteen hundred dollars in subscriptions.
