The musical of 1989 details the ups and downs of life on the high seas, on the surface it is a simple love story between a man and a wom- an. But on a deeper level the un- derlying racism becomes preva- lent, and reveals it to be the vul- garity that it is. The musical was performed on March 16, 17 and 18 under the di- rection of Mr. Michael Piccuro. Re- hersal for the play started right after Christmas break. PICNIC FEVER!! Bamboo picnics Rule. 1 . Picnics make everyone happy. With the realization that Mc- Donald's food was not all that it was made out to be, plus the fact that it doesn't taste like home- made food caused the next gener- ation of lunch eaters to look else- where for lunch. Students began searching all over for alternative foods. After testing several fast food and pizza joints, as well as many diners, it was decided that none of these would do. The only solution: bring food from home on a picnic. And so armed with Blankets, Blens, (for those uniformed about the activity of Blenning, a Blen is a spiritual body movement of ex- tremi y overpowering physical and emotional release. But to truly comprehend a Blen one must ex- pier ence a Blen) and Baskets of food new fields of grass or bamboo and wet docks were invaded by thousands of picnicking students. The air was filled with music as people gorged on a vast multitude of sandwichs. Soon tumbling, sing- ing and blenning began to take place. And all was well and happy again. 2b A picnic can happen anywhere.
