Expanded and Diversified Curriculum The History Department provides students with a comprehensive background in American and world history while offering opportunities to relate this knowledge to current international affairs. The history department is currently evaluating its position in relation to the Thorough and Effi- cient Education Act. To foster the quality of good citizenship in young adults, history is taught to enlighten the students in areas of civil affairs as well as past events. The history curriculum is centered on the his- tory of the United States, Advanced Placement US History II, taught for the first time this year, is the counterpart to Advanced Placement US His- tory I, a junior course. These year-long courses are concentrated and detailed studies of the politics and economics of the historical eras, emphasized by informative selected readings.
