Through these courses, students are given a better understanding and knowledge of the important countries of the world and their governments. Such knowledge begins when, as freshmen, students are re- quired to take World History—a newly established phase in Sayreville’s social studies program. Not only does World History serve as an introductory course, but provides the student with the basic ideas of history and democracy. The faculty of Sayreville is constantly en- deavoring to impress upon the students the importance of history and the reflection of the past as mirrored in our twentieth century world.

The second year of- fers a more detailed study of grammar with more em- phasis on conversation.
