FRANCES McKEON Twimp Dancing Club: 4. Twimp's major hobbies are girls and auto racing. After completing high school he would like to join the Navy and get married. His capable handling of a car certainly has amazed everyone. MURIEL MERRETT Skip Twirling Club: 1, 2, 3, 4; Glee Club: 1, 2, 3, 4; Echo Lites: 1, 2, 3, 4; Science Club: 1; (Presi- dent) Latin Club: 2; (Secretary) Junior Class; (Vice-President) Student Council: 4; (Editor) Yearbook: 4; Dramatic Club: 4. Yeah team! No that's not a squad—it's Skip cheering for the team. Rain or shine she can be seen doing snappy twirling routines on the football field. Twirling, dramatics, and editing the yearbook top Skip's long list of activities. To become a nurse or an instructor in a nurs- ing school is her main ambition. RAYMOND MIKLIOS Mick Latin Club: 2; Baseball: 3, 4; Basketball: 4; Mat Club: 4; (Treasurer) Senior Class; Student Council: 4; Yearbook: 4. Catching for the baseball team, playing bas- ketball, hunting, fishing,—it's a wonder Ray has time for anything else but sports! His am- bitions—to become a chemical engineer and to capture the heart of a pretty girl. 27

EDICE MARCY Glee Club: 1; Newspaper: 1, 2, 3, 4; Basketball: 3, 4; (Vice-President) Handicraft Club: 4; Senior Commercial Club: 4; Yearbook: 4. A future business executive, Edice has gained practical experience on the business staffs of the Newspaper and Yearbook. She has been one of the outstanding guards on the girls' basketball team during her junior and senior years. Her other favorite pastime is dancing. GRACE MARCY Newspaper: 1, 2, 3, 4; Glee Club: 1; (Secretary) Sophomore Class; Library Club: 2; (Secretary) Sewing Club: 2; Student Council: 3; (Secretary) 4; Handicraft Club: 4; Basketball: 4; Senior Commercial Club: 4; Yearbook: 4. If you have a question that you cannot an- swer, ask Grace. She's capable and always willing to help. Her fondness for baking indi- cates an interest in home-making that we weren't aware of. She insists she wants to be an aviatrix. JOHN McCUTCHEON Mick Football: 4; Basketball (Manager): 4. Mick is the ideal basketball manager. Al- though he claims he dislikes girls, he has been one of the corridor Romeos on location near Rooms 3 and 4. Mick plans to buy a car and tour U. S. some day. 26

ROBERT MILLER Bob Senior Commercial Club: 4. Here is the silent member of the senior class. As far as we know, his only dislike in school has been homework. Modern music and a girl to share it are Bob's conception of Paradise. He would like to manage a grocery store and pilot his own plane. MADGE MONTREY Midge Twirling: 1, 2, 3, 4; Glee Club: 1, 2, 3, 4; Library Club: 1; Handicraft Club: 4; Drum Majorette: 4. One toot on her whistle and the band comes sharply to attention, for Midge is the 1944-1945 high-strutting drum majorette. Truly an out- door girl, her favorite sports are ice-skating and swimming. This future Florence Nightingale will cheer many a patient's day at Jersey City Medical Center. STELLA MYTNICK Stel Glee Club: 2, 3, 4; Basketball: 3; Senior Com- mercial Club: 4. Stel is one of the best dressed girls of S.H.S. In her Junior year she contributed her skills as a forward on the basketball team. A great enthusiast, Stel enjoys both watching and par- ticipating in almost any sport. 28
