In September, 1957, we came to the doors of Saxton Liberty to begin our final year. Our high school days, we realized, were quite few. We were pleased to have as a member of our class, Hans Fend, an exchange student from Germany. We set to work at once to build up our class treasury and to begin the production of the year book. We were host at the Christmas Party and in the spring made the traditional trip to Washington, where we saw many of the historical sights. The officers for this year were: President, William Spargo; Vice-President, Sam Gates; Treasurer, Hans Fend; Secretary, Jane Treece; and Historian, Charles De Luca. All too soon our high school days came to an end, but we will long remember those four years at Saxton Liberty.

It is almost four years ago since we were freshmen. There were one hundred thirty nine of us that September day in 1954. I am sure we remember it well. Each one of us was anxious to find for himself what high school was really like. After the first week, we were able to get to our classes on time. Since the routine had been established, we fell to organizing our class. Early in the year we held a class meeting, and with the help of our advisors, Miss McCahan and Mrs. Ritchey, elected the following officers: William Spargo; Vice President, David O’Neal; Treasurer, Gary Saylor; Secretary, Shelby Weaver; Historian, Jane Treece. Our Social project for that year was a Hobo Party held in the spring. A group of one hundred fourteen sophomores returned to Saxton Liberty in September, 1955, ready to begin another year in pursuit of knowledge. Everything seemed quite familiar by now. At our first class meeting we elected officers. They were: President, William Spargo; Vice President, Jerry Hughes; Treasurer, James Rhodes; Secretary, Jane Treece; and Historian, Charles De Luca. In March, we held the annual St. Patrick’s Day Party. Time passed swiftly and we had soon completed half our high school days. When we returned the next September as juniors, our class enrollment had dropped to ninety-four. A lot of nice things happened this year, beginning with the arrival of our class rings. We sponsored a successful Halloween Party and sold refreshments at the home football games. The big event of the year was the Junior-Senior Prom with “Spring Serenade” as the theme. Another high light was a trip to Gettysburg. Officers for this year were: President, William Spargo; Vice President, Francis Ciarrocca; Treasurer, Norma Miller; Secretary, Jane Treece; and Historian, Charles De Luca. •
