CLASS PROPHECY In the year of l955, uranium was discovered in the Bartola and Rankin Coal Mine, by 1970 a rocket plant has been established in the Broad Top area. As executives of the plant we have started on a tour checking our subdivisions all over the world. The first stop is in the great metropolis of Saxton which now has a population of 3,500,000 people. Here we visit the famous research laboratory of the University of Broad Top of which Geraldine Jenkins is the head. Miss Jenkins is making a survey of animal life on Moon and her assistant Bill Burkett volunteers to show us the latest developments of the laboratory. As we leave the laboratory we find it is near lunch time and decide to get a light lunch at Atomic Fizz Inn Much to our surprise te find that Bette Ruth Workman owns the place and treats us to an atomic fizz Who serves us our fizz but Jean Hess, a career girl fmodern for old maidl at 37,who is working here durlng the summer vacation She tells us she is teaching femininology at Harvard during the two winter semesters After finishing our lunch we hail a rocketcab, which Bob Detwiler is piloting,to the rocketport We meet Bill Reed at the port and he agrees to pilot our rocket for the remainder of the trip Our party boards the ship and five minutes later we arrive in Washington, D C While we are here the first lady of the land, the former Dolores Barto, takes us to visit her husband, President Donaldson At the White House we also meet the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Joe Hiquit While we are rem inising over our school days with Joe, he mentions that the Washington Senators are playing baseball here today We decide and the Pres1dent's private chauffeur, Elwood Stitt, the President's Cadillac convertible Much to our players are Ithel Wright and Ron Willison While we game, a fly ball is hit into the grandstand and pops to go to the game takes us there in surprise the star are watching the Jim Fields on the head We rush him to the Walter Reed Hospital where Catherine Ciarrocca is head nurse Catherine tells us Patty McCavitt and Hilda Ann Stake are also employed here Jeannine Hughes, former head nurse, has been transferred to China to improve sanitary conditions Jim is given shot of Supersonic Seltzer drug which was discovered by Dean McGhee He recovers almost instantly After this unpleasant episode, we decide to move on Elwood drives us to the rocket port where Bill has our rocket dition who is at her English Channel in 5 hours and 35 minutes After plant in London, where Jack Mountain is top atomic Doris up on the invitation and go to her estate by which Bill has rented for our visit in England meal, we relax by reading the London Society Paper country estate She tells us Norma Baker lubricated with atomic energy, As our ship is in excellent con we leave for our next destination, London, England Doris Ross, married to a Duke, meets us at the port and invites us to stay has just swum the checking our atomic scientist, we take way of helicopter, After a delightful and find that Edith Wright, star of Broadway and television, has arrived in England to star in a play for the British Television Network The name of the play is nNorth Atlanticu by the noted play write, Margaret Fleck It is soon time to leave and we all board the rocket once more Our next stop is Paris, France, still the fashion center OI the world While shop ping for dresses in an exclusive shop, we are informed that all the clothes in the shop are quite expensive because they were designed need an elaborate hairdo to set them off Joan McDonald and Phoebe Miller, the clerks in the shop, direst up to the shop of Madame Bette They tell us that Tadame Bette 1 no other than our high school class mate Betty Fox After getting our hairdo we go back to the rocket ship to leave for our next stop, the Riveira, where we are taking a holiday from our tiring trlp Upon reaching the port we take off and one minute later we arrive at the Riviera Je put on our bathing suits and rush to the beach for a swim in the surf Upon reaching the beach we see a group of autograph seekers Who is the center of but mark Fable, the famous Pollywood star, better known to Thomas Slim is very glad to see his old school chums and to lunch with him at his villa We are very surprised to Weaver is Sl1m's private secretary She says his fan mail attraction us as Slim invites us see Gladys certainly I O 1 ' . Pre- ' I and Mary argaret Logan are private secretarles to the governor of California Then they really surpr'se us by saylnc that the governor is no other than Robert Claoper, who has followed the family tradition of entering politics ae s end a delightful evening with our friends and then stop at a hotel for tne nlfrt The next WOPTIHQ we check our rocket and then declde to visit Hollywood, still the great cinema city of the world ve visit a set at Iolecular Studios where we find David Holmes is director and George Adolohson is producer of the much talked about movie, 'I lever see 'aggie Alone , starring dargaret Donaldson Ce starr1ng with 'ar aret is a comparatively new star to the movies, Ronnie Barnett Ronnie was discovered by the famous talent scout Kate Folk while she was tourirg in Florida She also discovered George fBusterJPeck who now imitates Donald Duck in motion pictures All this has been very enjoyable, but now we say a hasty goodbye to the sunny climate of California and move on to nl Paso, Texas where our plant is located We hear Ton McCahan who is football coach at S M U has an ex cellent team in practice One of his star players is Tom's nephew Kelly McCahan Junior We remember his father as Pat and little did we think that Pat was the family type Since we are in Texas we decide to visit Tom at the university Arriving on the campus we see Lelia Swope, now Mrs J Mort She tells us she is teaching dietetics here During the short chat with Lelia she tells us Tom is having football practice and so we hurry off to the practice field We find Tom very enthusi astic about his team, but he admlts the opening game of the season will be a tough one, since they are playing George Meyers' wolverlnes from Michigan We enjoy talking to Tom and after a brief visit ve leave once more This time we direct the rocket to Pikes Peak, Colorado, where we have recently established an atomic sound detector One of the first sights to take our eye is a magnificent new restaurant The heavenly smell of food makes our mouths water and we simply must stop Heldibridle and Vary Angelo turn out to be the joint owners of the restaurant Mary says they just got back from a vacation spent on the Krieger Johnson Dude Ranch in Jyoming It seems that Don and Jack have a thriving business there Our sound deten or seems to be in good shape, so we hurry on to Yellowstone National Park Our sub plant in th1s vicinity is right in the center of the forest when Tut gets tangled with a bear, who comes to the rescue but Charles Foor, a forest ranger in the park Charles says the bear is harmless but he does like the company of human beings nven so, we are more than relieved to climb into our rocket for our next stop, Chicago, Illinois As we alight from our rocket, we see in a dlstant part of the city a very large neon sign which reads Wieck Meat Backing Qompany Ne have never been thru a meatpacking house, so we ask to see the owner of this huge olant we find the owner to be Glen eck Pe readlly permits us to be shown thru the plant He tells us lt isn't usually oermltted but because we're old classmates of his, he U1VBS us thls privilege The plant is large and we are quite exhausted and hungry by the time our tour is ended thank Glen and proceed to find an eating place We flnd a hotel, on top of whlch 13 a famous dinlng room called the 'Magnolia Terrace While we are eating, there is a fashion show As the girls are crossing the stage we notice none other than Beverly Johnson, our old school mate We are disappointed that we cannot stay until after the show and talk to Beverly but we must hurry back to our rocket plant We check the plant in a short time and are once again ready to board our rocket for our next destination, New York City As we all get seated in our rocket, Bill says the ignition fails due to the generator burnlng out Since we must be in New York for a meeting of our plant officials, we are forced to take a plane The mechanics at our rocketport tell us they will fix the rocket and have one of their men fly to new York for us Je rxsh to the airport and board a plane As we get into the plane we are greeted by Adeline Ch1ar1z1a, who is hostess Ve talk to Adeline frequently during the trio She tells us she has been air host ess for TWA for SOW6tlm9 She also tells us that she still hears from Norma Davis, who now ovns a department store in St Louis, hissourl Traveling in an airplane seems quite slow to us after traveling in a rocket, but we finally arrlve in N Y After we attend the meeting we w T1 ' 4 ' V ...
