Fannin County Fair Crowded By Savoy Students Everyone enjoyed the fair even if a few did get sick from the rides. Many showed their calves and hogs. Some entered objects in foods, crafts, and sewing, and Sandy Corzine entered the Queen's Contest and did a skit, ”1 Can’t Say No.” Everyone had fun and we are all grateful that we were dismissed from school to go. The Savoy FFA won first place in the shop division at the Fannin County Fair. Representing the chapter were: Kevin Merworth, Mike Corzine, Karen Waggoner, Tommy Scoggins, and Walter Bilyeu. Clayton Harp won two first places and one second place with his chickens. Gene Sim- mons won third place and fourth place with his chickens, and Cary Malone placed first with his chickens. The FFA boys and their advisor are to be commended for their interest and accomplish- ments this year.

Yesterday's, Today's, Tomorrow The question is not whether to have goals. The question is whether it's a goal now or a goal then. ’ ’ - Hugh Prather 10

The Savoy students put a lot of time, work and care into each project. When it was time to find out who had placed in all of the events, there were many who were trying to keep the butterflies down. We know that they are all proud of their work and so are we. Even though all of them were tired, they were still excited and it paid off because almost everyone returned home with awards and a smile from ear to ear. 12
