DEDICATION We, the Class of 1953, proudly dedicate this issue of the Cardinal to Mrs Irene Brown, our former teacher. We wish to express our appreciation to her for the many school activities she promoted, for her leadership in main- taining a high school spirit, and above all, for being a close friend to each one of us. We sincerely thank her and wish for her much health and prosperity in the coming years.

SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE This has been a trying year at Savoy High High School for the student body in publishing an annual. You have made yourself worthy of great praise through the great amount of work it has taken to accomplish this task and through the leadership, initiative, and determination shown. But let us not speak of the past but look to the future. TO THE SENIORS: Even though you have worked hard and made a lot of friends; these friends will be gone, and you are about to find yourselves in a new world of experiences. Remember that the same determination, initiative, and leadership will be needed, but to a greater extent in the future life. One word of advice--any task you undertake, weigh it with two lines of thought-Is it right and is it worthwhile? If your answer is the affirmative, you will not fail if you have the right determination. Remember, even though this is your last great task in Savoy High School, that your teachers next to your parents are your dearest friends, and that if at any time in later years they can help you; they will be glad to do it.
