RETIREMENT M r. Peters The Anovas staff would like to pay tribute to three of our non-teaching staff who retired this year. Mrs. Peters of the cafeteria staff was one whose cheerful smile always made the day seem brighter. Her husband, our head mechanic, Mr. Peters was unsur- passed in his ability to keep our fleet of buses running. We miss them both. Mr. Higbie's sympathetic nature and sense of humor soothed many frazzled nerves on the bus ride home after a lost sports event, and for this quality we shall always remember him with affection. df' ual' iiqfb E f Mrs. Peters Mr, Higbie QQQZYA ,S

Q O iw, THE BOARD OF EDUCATION: Marvin BeGelI, Warren Thompson, Blaine Mattison, Carl Roy, Dorothy Burr, Howard Nichols, C. Frederick Pierson Mr. Stitt - Vice Principal A big thank you to the staff of the 1977 Anovasl Yours is a singular contribution to your school and community - an ongoing chronicle of the people and events at Savona Central in 1976-77 - a page of history to be enjoyed and appreciated now and for years to come. lt has been said that nature gave man two ends - one to sit on and one to think with, and that his success or failure has been dependent on the one he used most. We at Savona should be glad that you, the producers of the yearbook, have not shown a preference for the former. Congratulations on a job well donel I would like to take this time to extend best wishes and congratulations to the members of our 1977 graduating class. May you enjoy success in your endeavors, what- ever they may be, as you pass another milestone in the experience of Iifel Charles G. Stitt Mr. Pierson - Principal The yearbook- serves as a pictorial record of the sig- nificant activities during the school year. Special recogni- tion is given to each senior class. However, the Anovas is for all of us to cherish as we look back in years to come. A great deal of effort went into the production of the Anovas. Many hours of schooltime were devoted to its preparation, and much money has been expended. We believe it is worth the effort, but only if it is of value to those it serves. Without the continued support of adverti- sers, and complete sales of the book, publication will cease. We do not plan to expend district fund money to maintain it. Obviously the future of the ANOVAS rests in the hands of its readers. Congratulations to the staff for a job well done. You have certainly gone beyond expectations to keep the ANOVAS alive and in good shape for next year's staff. C. Frederick Pierson
