W rffiafl ii lt W rt 1 x fi fr awe-'ol VF I' I We if r How can one express the warmest appreciation and gratitude on a piece of paper? We could say that he's generous, understanding, helpful, humorous and very special to all of us, but there is something much much more. Dedicating this yearbook to this teacher can only be a small reward compared to what he has dedicated to us. For this year's senior class he's been more than willing to pitch ing not only with his hands, but out of his pocket as well. For the yearbook, the same thing applies. We can safely say that his classroom instruction was different, but we, being seniors, can still recollect many of his lectures and have greatly benetited from them. He's made up of everything a really great teacher must be. He's also been a dear friend to all of us. He does not put on and take off a face when he comes and leaves the school. His good nature and irresistible charm has captured all our hearts. Because you are very special to us, the Anovas Staff of 1975 would 0,8 K ,Like to gratefull dedicate this year's book to you-Mr. John Roy. l 1 l v' x 5 I l r L W it We KUXAQKZ' 9-ll WN ,Mt ' F: 4 we J: 'Xmf K' S, H fi Ali, fmgqff W H ! rifhyfifi 4' fi 'P ful U5 K fn, Q iff 'ff . Many times we find we often miss good things and good people. Mrs. Alderman was one of these. For those of us who knew her. She was a loving wife, a good mother, an interested scout leader, a faithful co- worker, and a friend. Those who did not know her missed something very special. Her death was a great shock to all of us, and reminded us again how very suddenly life can end and that we should try to live life to its fullest. We will all miss Mrs. Alderman. God, bless her and keep her. Board af Educafiau l9rir1c1Qml'.s' fatter Congratulations on the 25th Anniversary of the ANOVAS. Our pres- ent staff, like its predecessors, has devoted much time and effort that we might enjoy this pictorial history of our school life. You are fighting the inflation battle, with soaring production costs threatening to put you out of business. Your perseverance is commended and we trust that, in spite of adversity, the ANOVAS will be continued in some form. To the graduates, smooth sailing in the years ahead. We have enjoyed working with you and hope that we have assisted you in your preparations for college andfor the world of work. This may seem like a difficult time to be moving on, but I submit there is a place for young people willing to put forth their best effort, to adjust to changing conditions, and take full advantage of all opportunity. You have much to offer your world . . . give it in abundance. Laugh at adversity and make your world a happy place. Let it be your ball of wax . . . shape it as you will. ROW I: Mr. Pierson, Mrs. Burr, Mrs. Roy. ROW II: Mrs. McG1ynn, Mr. Snyder, Mr, Nichols. C. Frederick Pierson tsnnnnnsui 35 ,Mrs Adler At the close of the 1973-74 school year each of us lost a true friend, a considerate colleague, and a superb teacher. Mrs. Jane Adler, with twenty-six years of service, retired from our staff. Mrs. Alder, with all her knowledge and intel- lect, always had time for any student who needed help. Her heart was with each and every student takin an exam. A student's failure was a sadness to her just as a student's excellence was her joy. A problem of any studentls was a problem of Mrs. Adlerls. We hope with all of the sincerity in the world that Mrs. Adler will have a long, happy retirement. Krfirrmrui The theme of our yearbook is Reflections There could not be a better time to reflect upon the great qualities which many people saw, few ac- quire, and some we will never see again in any other person. As Mrs. Hauber has given twenty-three years of faithful service to Savona, we, the Senior Class, choose to honor her and express our deep grati- tude for all she has done for us. Each of us can remember knocking on her door at any time of day for a dictionary, thesaurus, an idea for an essay, or clarification on a question, and she was always there to help. We will miss her, but the memories of her dedi- cation and patience and the invaluable lessons, not only along the lines of English, but in life itself, will always be with us.
