ln past years the ANOVAS has been dedicated to various individuals who have shown outstanding quali- ties not only as teachers and advisors, but as friends to us all. This year, we of the ANOVAS staff have made iriends the theme of our work. We feel that in this age of strife and misunderstanding friends are very important. It is these friends who are there when We need support, when we need financial assistance, when we need a moral boost, and when we just plain need someone to talk to who will listen. Friends are truly precious and rare. They are the ones whom we are proud to call a part of us and of our success. Even in defeat, we are never without our friends. Never have we been without friends in this communi- ty. It is the honor and pleasure of the ANOVAS staff of 1973 to dedicate the ANOVAS of 1973 to the corn- munity of Savona, for never have they made us regret that we are a part of this community.

lm?-fe... p., Mrs. Spitz This past year Mrs. Eleanor York retired from our school faculty after her many years as a patient, hard worker. Most of us at Savona can recall seeing Mrs. York sitting at her desk helping her students. She was always willing to help anyone with a math problem and she could constantly be seen opening the school store or pencil disposer during a class. We are sorry to see such a wonderful friend leave us, and we would like to wish her much happiness and the best of luck throughout her future years of well earned rest from the frantic pace of the seventh grade. At the close of the past school year, Mrs. Ellen Spitz retired from our faculty. For as long as many of us can remember, Mrs. Spitz was always present, willing to help someone sew on a button, mix their ingredients together, or help in any other way she could. She was a wonderful teacher and a respected friend. We were very lucky to have her on our faculty. We will all miss her friendly smile and warm person- ality. We would like to thank her for her many years of hard work and wish her all the happiness and best of luck in her retirement years. Mrs. York aim - M .Z ..,. ...,.zz .
