Y ' 4 Z A e Q 4 Q 3 nr ' 4 f r f CLASS HI 'FORY In retrospect we the seniors were a common class throughout grammer school We entered school asscared as any children before us, and advanced annually buildrng our scholastic status along with our trust rn school per sonnel Upon reachrng Juruor hlgh we were exposed to a very drasuc change Classes were held in different rooms we found dlfferent teachers at our respective classes and we also found the classes some what drfferent at first We missed our periodical recess but enjoyed the fact that we had grownup and were at last upstairs rn high school We formed a class club by way of Mr McLoughl1n's inspiration and soon learned the functions of parliamentary procedure which recently we have farled to observe The money we earned we blew on a class picnic as a last fling before our senior trip Freshmen year presented us new problems however, we had learned to cope with them by then Class officers were elected rnitiatlon went over wtth a big splash on our part we settled down to develop the careers we had established for ourselves By conducting a few money making activities our treasury at year's end showed a meek but dec1s1ve profit Both boys and girls got started m sports and other actlvtues Campbell Carol Ames and Wilhelmrna Jones were chosen cheerleaders whrle John Buck, Joe Walrke Stuart Davidson and Richard Timken played on various teams We conducted a nasty 1n1t1at1on for the freshmen that year Our prom was the large attraction in our Junior year Pauline Campbell and John Buck were elected king and queen They were crowned inour gym wluch was converted temporarily rnto a lovely ballroom Pauline Campbell and Beulah Morse took the cheerleader honors from the class while John Buck Stuart Davidson Rrchard Trmken and Joe Walike played on the teams Of the senior class, Shirley Mulllken Bertha Pierson CCC11l3 Hale Floyd Towner and Joe Wallke were the only ones to stay together through the twelve years just reviewed During our seruor year the cheerleaders and ballplayers remained the same Floyd Towner represented our class and school in county and state bands Cec1l1a Hale was edrtor of our school paper THE INKSPOT and also maintained a column in the Bath newspaper THE COURIER Rrchard Trmken John Buck and Joe Wahke were the f1rst wrestlers 1n Savona and inspired many others to follow Elwood Seager, Gisela Boekholt and Francls Holmes were new members that year Our senior year was spent maklng money for our trip to New York City We had a very successfulschool life and as we leave we hope for only one thing We hope that the example we set 1n Savona High School was all good and that it may inspire others after us to successful school careers Just as that which we received inspired us I l .
