There were our man projects in grade school, and then our graduation from the eighth grade In our Freshman Class, there were sixteen members, namely Jerry Crans, Darlene creekston, John Feehan, Delcye Ferguson, Jim Grimaldi, Denny Le Gro, Miles Loomis, Henry Morse, Betty Nichols, Irene Strzepek, Chuck Tobias, Ruth Towner, Donna White, Dick Wixson, Anne Wolverton, and Helen Zemak Officers were elected for the year as follows President, Miles, Vice President, Delcye, Secretary, Donna, Treasurer, Irene Miss Gibbs and Mr Vastola were chosen as class advisors Representatives from our class participated in almost every sport Delcye on the cheerleading squad, Donna and Anne in girls basketball, Chuck, Miles, and John in track and basketball, and Betty and Henry in Band The initiation was the biggest event of the year The next September, we were welcomed back as 'Sophomores' still numbering sixteen, but before the end of the year came, Miles and John left us to join the service and Darlene transferred to a larger school Rose Groves and Grace Brown joined us The following officers were elected Donna, President, Chuck, Vice President, Ruth, Secretary, Irene, Treasurer Miss Dart was elected as an advisor, and again class members took part in various activities The movies that we sponsored were the biggest money making propositions Vacation came and went and we returned once more to the school for knowledge Ruth and Dick had left our group, and later Edna Jo Porter joined us Anne was elected as Whig chief' this time, and Chuck was again our Vice President Helen was an able secretary and Irene found the job as treasurer endless Coach Beauter was elected our advisor Delcye kept her position on the cheerleading squad Betty represented the class in music activities, Irene in Public Speaking, Chuck, Jim, and Denny in sports, and Grace, Delcye, Donna and Betty in track Receiving our class rings and sponsoring the Junior Prom were the high lights of 'Sl Last September, we returned for the last time as students of Savona we had gained three new members Ruth Towner, Marlene Mc Allister, and Jim Mc Guire Later Rose and Marlene left us Coach was still our able advisor, Denny was chosen president, Helen, his assistant, Ruth, class secretary, Delcye, treasurer Irene and Denny were Senior representatives on Student Council Betty represented the school and the class in All State Band, and in the county band The boys went out for the sports, Donna was on the girls team, and Delcye was an outstanding tumbler This year, the Senior Play was a great success we all have recollections of the hard work, the memorization of lines, the arguments, and then the big nights when Donna lost her shoes, when Henry forgot his cues, when Betty forgot her line as Denny kissed her, when Delcye forgot her toothpaste, and when everyone had Wstage fright Now, with only a few weeks left before Commencement, we, as Seniors, look back over the years we have shared as classmates and remember all of the sorrows and joys we have experienced We regret leaving, we wonder what the future will bring as we face new responsibilities If we remember our teachers' advice, remember that it is the little things in life that count, and look for new paths and new adventures, then we can all proudly say, 'I graduated from Savona ' Q u e e s 6 u o - Y o a . . 0 u e s o u s u 0 0 I , I s . .
