Oliver, associate professor ofjine arts, lzas been namea' co-ordinator of the college's program. Ela'erhostel is a non-profit ea'ucation program for older adults. It is incorporatea' in Massachusetts ana' the network consist ofmore than 500 colleges and universities in 50 states ana' Canada. It serves more than 45,000 participants nationwide. Savannah State College haa' a group of 40 to 45 participants for each of its four one-week sessions. These participants were housea' on campus ana' took their meals witlz other campus stua'ents. Liberal arts courses were offered on a non-credit basis with no homewrok or testing. At the start ofthe l982jall session, Georgia was the first state to offer Eltlerhostel sessions year arouna'.
