As our last chapter is closed On our high school career, we hope to glance back over the years spent at Savannah and truthfully say we have benefited from all our experiences. We know that whatever we have accomplished here is merely a twig in the forest of life. We can only hope that our experiences at Savannah will help us to successfully traverse that forest. Nevertheless, high school has not answered all of our questions, it has only pres ented us with a little slice of life. We are still proudbecause we have come a long way down the road of study and understanding. We realize that a still greater challenge re- mains ahead. For some, this year will mean an end to our formal education; but for others, this milestone will open new avenues of study. When Finis is written to our years of sorrows and joys-triumphs and hardships, we believe that within our hearts we have the power to up- hold and foster the beliefs and ideals that have been instilled in us here at dear ole Savannah. Student Council Officers Student Council Vice President and President Talking Matters Over. To perpetuate the ideal of self- direction in molding the life of the students at Savannah High School, the Student Council and its auxiliaries attempt to give the student body free- dom to enjoy the rights and privileges which have been granted to the students in order that they may wholly enjoy the democratic atmosphere which exists at Savannah. The Student Council is c 0 mp o s e d of students elected by their respective classes. The working part of this complex organization is seen in its accomplishments. The Student Council is working industriously toward publishing Savannah's first print- ed handbook. Delegates from Savannah attended the State Convention held at Hillside High School, Durham, N. C. The Student Council also aided in fosteringthe improvement of the school's lunchroom program. Mrs. Bertha W. Dixon is our inspiring Counselor.
