As graduating seniors we have reached the highest point of one phase of our lives. The slow trickle of the training of our earliest years now surges at the full. It gives' us the power to meet the greater challenges which are now im- minent. In a larger sense the creation of the school was the result of a high tide of enthusiasm springing from the citizens of Savannah and channeled by the In- corporators, the Trustees, the Headmaster, and the Faculty. During this first year we, the students, have become a part of the rising current to the extent that each of us has fed it and given it strength. To know and understand fully that this is our part is to know that this tide will not ebb. TRLETEES A. D. STROBHAR, Prefident LORTON S. LIVINGSTON, Vice Pfefidenl THOMAS H. ADAMS, sm-wry JACK H. Trusdell, whose tireless efforts in further- ing the high purposes of our school have been an inspiration to all of us. HEADMASTER'S THE MESSAGE This first Savannah Country Day School an'nual has as its symbolic theme the high tide. Each new year throughout the long future history of the School will be like a new cycle of the tide. There will be the flow of new students at the beginning, and the ebb of departing graduates at the end of each year. But underneath this minor pulsation there must always run a deeper flow--a current of zeal and dedication to a purpose. That purpose is summed up in the word Responsibility. Education really means learning Responsibility: toward ourselves, to bring out the best that is in us morally, mentally, and physically, toward our families, to justify the high hopes in which they have given us this schooling, toward our fellow men, to foster the qualities of citizenship, service, and leadership that will make for a better community and a better world. But in this first year or two particularly, there is one added Responsibility-our Responsibility toward the future of the School. The older generations of Savannah have given us this School in faith and trust. They look to its students in its beginning years to establish the erprit, the character, that will endure throughout its future, and will touch the lives of every one of the hundreds and hundreds of boys and girls who will pass through the School in the years ahead. This is a great Responsibility, and must be met greatly. ' R. W. TRUSDELL X , . Q 3. Y . i. 4 wi 5' V4--.. MAY H5 Q X 6, , 5 . L xg? .V A - f 6 ' if nav.. M' ' 1 Hg.
