Wayne Wuest was born on April 2, 1936, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Reinholdt Wuest. He was the old- est of a family of four. He at- tended Savage school ten years. Wayne was class President two years, fsophomore and Iuniorj, was in two plays, 'Finders Creepers' and 'Paddle Your Own Canoe' and was the student manager of the Warriors for two years fSopho- more and Iuniorj. During his school years Wayne had rheumatic fever and heart trouble. On August 27, 1954, after a long illness he passed away in a Denver, Colorado hospital. We were initiated and given an initiation party by the Sophomores. Sponsored by Miss Goss, we painted the S and gave a return party to the Sophomore Class. When our class entered its Sophomore year we found that two members had been lost, Vemon Gebhardt and Raymond I-leing we had also gained two new members, Ruth I-lessenthaler and Dwight Brose. Percy Kassner had a car accident so he dropped out at the end of the first semester. We presented the Junior-Senior Prom with Mr. Calkins as sponsor and carried out the theme April Showers. We entered the Junior year with 13 members. The three members we had lost were La Donna Jones, Claudelle Gulbraa, and Sharon Willlan. Then, Robert Stordahl left at the end of the semester. With Mr. Calkins as sponsor we put on the Junior-Senior Banquet carrying out the theme 'Oriental Gardens. We also put on the Junior Class play, 'Paddle Your Own Canoe g Mrs. Larson was director. When school started in Sept. '54 a mere group of 9 Seniors were here to start. Dwlght.Brose, Lola Vallejo and Wayne Wuest had left us. In November we presented the Senior Class Play, Act Your Age, under the direction of Mrs. Hammer. On May 25th we became alumni. Violet Knopp was valedlctorian and Janis Mitchell was salutatorian.
