He was the old- est of a family of four. He at- tended Savage school ten years. Wayne was class President two years, fsophomore and Iuniorj, was in two plays, 'Finders Creepers' and 'Paddle Your Own Canoe' and was the student manager of the Warriors for two years fSopho- more and Iuniorj. During his school years Wayne had rheumatic fever and heart trouble. On August 27, 1954, after a long illness he passed away in a Denver, Colorado hospital. We were initiated and given an initiation party by the Sophomores. Sponsored by Miss Goss, we painted the S and gave a return party to the Sophomore Class. When our class entered its Sophomore year we found that two members had been lost, Vemon Gebhardt and Raymond I-leing we had also gained two new members, Ruth I-lessenthaler and Dwight Brose. Percy Kassner had a car accident so he dropped out at the end of the first semester. We presented the Junior-Senior Prom with Mr. Calkins as sponsor and carried out the theme April Showers. We entered the Junior year with 13 members. The three members we had lost were La Donna Jones, Claudelle Gulbraa, and Sharon Willlan. Then, Robert Stordahl left at the end of the semester. With Mr. Calkins as sponsor we put on the Junior-Senior Banquet carrying out the theme 'Oriental Gardens. We also put on the Junior Class play, 'Paddle Your Own Canoe g Mrs. Larson was director. When school started in Sept. '54 a mere group of 9 Seniors were here to start. Dwlght.Brose, Lola Vallejo and Wayne Wuest had left us. In 1952 we started out our freshman year with sixteen in the class. There were four girls and twelve boys. In November Harriet Mitchell was elected Carnival Queen. Shortly after this Harriet and Shirley Mitchell quit school. At the end of the first semester Daniel Adams moved to Sidney to attend school there. This left 18 pupils in the freshman class, our class sponsor was Mr. Cornish. ln 1953 we started our Sophomore year with 12 pupils. Monte Gable quit because of work at home. We also lost Jim Jimison in April. We started working on the Junior-Senior prom the first of April. Our theme was Moonlight and Roses. Our prom would never have been a success without the help of Mr. Cornish, our sponsor. We are Juniors now and have 8 left. Gracia Helland moved to Shepherd, Montana, at the end of the first semester. Richard Stordahl moved to Alexander, North Dakota. We put on our Junior Class Play Where's the Fire, under the guidance of Mrs. Hammer. As our spon- sor, she also helped us put on the Junior-Senior banquet: our theme was O1d Mexico. CLASS OF 1955 Baccalaureate service was held May 22, 1955, with Rev. I. S. Rahn-as the speaker. The main speaker for the Commencement exercise was P. C. Gaines, Dean of the faculty at Bozeman State College. His topic was 'Walk the Second Mile. Diplomas were presented by Charles Basta, Chairman of the school ooard. Some of the things are lamps, gun racks, end tables, towel racks, and shoe racks. Their teacher is Mr. Calkins, who has taught shop here in Savage High for 4 years. The Annual and Signal staff was composed of the English IV Class this year. The Signal staff has been working hard to get a paper out every six weeks. Our Annual deadlines have all been sent in on time, thanks to Mrs. Hammer, out advisor. At the first of the year we chose Editors - Warren and Ruth. Our Hrst job was selling ads in Glendive and Sidney. Working on the ad pages came next, Mr. Kenney helped us choose our covers and division pages.
