I 1 To The Seniors: ln trying to develop a farewell message to you - my thoughts seemed to focus on the future. The days ahead are yours! If the world is to be rebuilt, it won't be done by those people who are either complacent, cynical or pessimistic! But, the world of tomorrow will be shaped by those of you who believe that a better world is possible and you are willing to make those sacrifices necessary to achieve this ob- jective. To move from high school to college, or directly out into the world of work, demands that each of you take time out for self-assessment. lt was Oliver Wendell Holmes who said, lt matters not so much where a man stands as it does in what direction he is headed! The initiative must be yours. lt will be your attitude, your desire, your self-discipline, your fresh ideas, and your enthusiasm that will make the difference. Let each become all he is capable of being. The individual talents and abilities you possess are God-given. Your parents and your teachers have tried to help you to help your- self in getting underway with the development of those talents and abilities. Whether or not you take advantage of the opportunities you have in entirely up to you. In order to succeed in whatever field of work you may choose, you must put forth more than a feeble effort - you must give it all you've got. Several years ago it was Winston Churchill who said, The price of greatness is responsibility. So, in whatever you may do in life, remember that if you are going to be the best, you must aspire to be the best. As you receive your diplomas today, I would ask that each one of you resolve to dedicate your best efforts to something that makes life a little better. It will be in your quest to help make this a better world in which to live, that you will find your greatest joy and satisfaction as you work with and serve your fellowman. Congratulations to all of you on your graduation! And now - as we bid you farewell, please take our best wishes for success with you! .iff ' Supervising Principal Good Luck and God Speed!
