Looking Through the Hoop The Saunemin Eagles did not prove to be winners the first half of the season, but they played very good ball the last half of the year. We placed second both in the Gardner Holiday Tournament and in the annual V.V. Toumament at Cullom. The season's record prior to the elimination toumeys was 8-12. The best games we played during the season were the 47-44 victory over the Forrest Eskimos, who won the V.V. Tournament crown from us two weeks before, and the 69-64 overtime de- cision we took from Cullom. Individual standouts and leaders were: Captain, Bill Vitzthum, rebounding and consistently getting timely baskets when they were most neededg John Lannon's ability to shoot baskets from any spot on the floor- Jerry Ross's floor game- Ralph Sancken's and Bert Ransdell s rebounding and Fred Immke s timely baskets As a whole the team did very well Our total points for the season were 1071 an average of 53 6 per game while our opponents racked up 1172 points for a 58 6 average B TEAM C 0 Kneeling Schroeder K Holzhauer E Hendershott M Headley J Fraher I Hoskins J Coach Cohrs Standing Fraher E Bartz D Sutton W Spafford D Kohlmeier E Gostelr R Parsons C Manager
