Competent actors and actresses portrayed their parts with the quality and finesse of experienced show people. Behind the scenes, the various com- mittees worked to make these productions a success. Stage crew put in much time readying setsg make-up committees dabbled in cold cream, rouge, and lip- stick, publicity crews worked to make the event known to the public. The membership of this organization consists of sophomores, iuniors, and seniors. Under the super- vision of Mrs. Ewing Speech Club also sponsored the 1956 Homecoming. SPEECH CLUB AIJCE M. Smiles of satisfaction can be seen on the faces of the staff members, who know that the iob they have been working on for the past two weeks has finally been finished. They show their satisfaction because they know they have contributed their share to the hard work that is put into every issue of Keynote. .lon L. The board members, from left to right are: Georgia Rose Hagen, assistant editor, Darlene Pau- kette, business manager, Marian Batdorff, features editor, and Audrey Biunes, news editor. A new office came into the hands of this year's Keynote staff. The office, which is located on the first floor of the high school was, in post years, the office of Mr. Charles Whitmore. The T957-58 Keynote staff, under the direct supervision of Mr. John F. McDonald, though slightly new to the newspaper world, have done their best to give the students of Sault high a finer, more inter- esting paper. Every other week, the clatter of the typewriters could be heard by the students as they walked down the hall to the west entrance of the school on their way home. A vote of thanks should be given to those students who worked patiently to give you something better to read. KEYNOTE JUNIOR RED CROSS COUNCH. The team wound the season up with a 3-5 record. Despite the efforts of the team, under the careful direction of coach Woody Ludwig, it just couldn't seem to get rolling. The Sault had twenty-two returning lettermen, in- cluding this years captain Barry Armstrong, who showed up all season. The Sault started the season off by losing the first game to Escanaba, 20-0, but they redeemed themselves in the last game of the season, in which they took Petoskey, 47-7. We sincerely hope the Sault High fans, in the future, will get behind the team one hundred per cent, showing the best sportsmanship and enthusiasm. Bee Team: The Sault High Bee Football Squad, under the directing hand of coach Sam Dubow, turned in a fine example of all around playing cluring the 1957 season. Sporting a 3 win-I tie-1 loss record, the Bees gained a great deal in experience and sportsman- ship as well as a driving ability to meet any foe with the fighting spirit that makes a great team.
